Awards are granted in 3 categories: best album, best live band, and most promising band.
In this way, everyone has the possibility to compete: bands at the beginning of their career, as well as artists with lots of milage on their tour bus. Artists who released their best creation ever in the past year are also eligible.

The nominees (2023)
The Flemish folk scene is alive and kicking! There are a lot of great bands in the region of Flanders. Selecting the nominees was not an easy task for the jury. After a lot of deliberation, FFN can now present the nominees for the very first edition of the Flanders Folk Awards. There are four nominated bands per category:
